It is almost June of 2022 and the World as we knew it is unraveling.
Jumping over the Beltane fire, the billowing smoke signaling halfway to Summer, our little nook in the Northern Hemisphere has been ash-confetti-cruxed with tragedy. Choking in the smolder, shock upon shock with war, metaphorical and literal, in the macro and the micro of May, we dig our toes into the Earth despite the bits that burn, flying around our faces, the ferns, the forest. A million little pieces and one cinder could catch, finding our livelihoods up in flames.
Your brain is likely on information drugs, an overload of negativity, destruction, and heartbreak. It doesn’t help that Mercury is Retrograde for the 2nd time in 2022, though we will see its end June 3rd, hopefully swimming smoothly through its shadow period afterward. January 14 to February 3: The pre-retrograde shadow begins December 29, 2021, post-retrograde shadow ends February 23.
May 10 to June 3: The pre-retrograde shadow begins April 25, post-retrograde shadow ends June 18.
September 9 to October 2: The pre-retrograde shadow begins August 22, post-retrograde shadow ends October 16.
December 29 to January 18, 2023: The pre-retrograde shadow begins December 12, post-retrograde shadow ends February 23, 2023.
Recovering from the wild space between the Solar Eclipse on Beltane and the latest Lunar Eclipse Blood Supermoon, the political and personal have been supercharged by the powerful yet scrambled energy and emotion as mammoth bodies of cosmic matter cross paths. The frivoli fantasy of the flora-flushed Taurus Sun met with the secretive shadow side of the zodiac, a Scorpio Blood Moon, reached far beyond a singular eclipse event; it emphasized the Taurus-Scorpio Node Cycle we’ve been experiencing since January 2022. Remaining on this polarity until July 2023, then retrograding into Aries-Libra, we will be experiencing Taurus-Scorpio eclipses again in the upcoming Autumn.
The Sun galavanting into Gemini is just the jolt we need to shake off the chaos during the Spring Eclipse Season.
Even though the Life-Death duality of the Taurus-Scorpio Axis has dug up old (or created new) wounds, the rather adventuresome Air Gemini sparks social sweetness and quick-witticism to pull us out of the dark waters, despite our prolonged grief, constant vigilance and culture of complex PTSD. Gemini’s home planet of Mercury has, however, stepped back to Taurus, and while Mercury is not in its comfortable Gemini go-go boots, the Retrograde does not mind a slow and steady review and reassessment in the Domestic Goddess realm at this time. This upcoming Saturday, Venus will move back into its comfort zone of Taurus, enhancing Earth energies to help us ground during Gemini’s solar-return. Perhaps we will have a peaceful moment to plant ourselves and take root again, however cautiously, while the connectivity and charisma of Gemini finds its shine for the start of Summer.
